Caitlin Hanson is a senior Politics major from Bismarck, North Dakota. She is also a Sergeant in the North Dakota Army National Guard. Having joined immediately after highschool, Caitlin has been exposed to many great opportunities within the Guard, including Marksmanship Team Coach, Retention Counselor, Bridge Crew Chief, and is currently the 2018 Best Warrior Competition NCO Candidate. Caitlin has had the opportunity to participate in a Joint-Training Exercise in Canada with forces from around the world, work as a Crowd Riot Control Team Leader at the Dakota Access Pipeline protests, and be a part of the Military Funeral Honors program. Before transferring to Ave Maria in August 2017, she ran the NE region of North Dakota for the program.
Caitlin also had the opportunity to intern for RBC Wealth Management and for Senator John Hoeven in his DC office during the summer and fall of 2016. There, she worked on social media research, drafted policy letters, and was able to attend seminars at the Leadership Institute.
Previously attending college at Arizona State University and North Dakota State University, she also worked as a CNA and English Language tutor for newly-immigrated families. Caitlin transferred to Ave Maria in pursuit of a deeper enrichment, academically and spiritually; she is excited to serve as Senior Representative and work to fulfill the interests of students.
